Those of you using Firefox 19 on Lubuntu may have noticed the issue where many images have a blueish tint over them. I took a quick look around and found a tested to work fix so it's only natural to share this with all of you. I can verify that 19 is now available from 12.04 through 13.04. At first it was only showing up in 13.04.
Go to about:config and change the following string from true to false by simply double clicking the line:
image.high_quality_downscaling.enabled
Now it will render all images perfectly.
A very quick and easy fix for all.
Found the fix here.
Update
There was a 19.02 update recently but this bug still exists. I only know that because I set that string back to true and saw the blue tint on 19.02. As long as you keep the sting set as false it will continue to work as it should.
Glad I keep up with this blog. I've been all over the place with this issue since I updated Firefox to v19 on my Lubuntu drive. On a side note, I find myself using Lubuntu more and more everyday while using OS X Leopard less and less. I would love to contribute more to this platform for PowerPC. Keep up the fantastic work that you and Dr. Dave do on this blog and for the PowerPC community.
ReplyDeleteThank you sooooo much zen, that was really starting to get on my nerves.
ReplyDeleteThis is fixed in the code base, so the workaround should not be needed in future versions of Firefox for PPC Linux.
ReplyDeletethanks for share.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! Thank you for the fix.
